It was recently announced that one of the year’s most anticipated games, Watch_Dogs, has been delayed for a Spring 2014 release. This is (apparently) so that Ubisoft can “polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience”.
“We know a lot of you are probably wondering ‘why now?’ We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”
This is obviously going to be very disappointing news for some people, but no doubt it is better than them releasing a game that is only half-done, or only half as good as everyone thought it was going to be. Thankfully, with games like Batman: Arkham Origins and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag on the horizon, there is still a lot to be excited about this year.
