Steam Reaches 65 Million Users, More Than Xbox Live

For me, it is hard to imagine PC gaming nowadays without Steam, as the platform as been ever growing in popularity. In fact, over the past year, there has been a 30% rise in the number of users on Steam which means that there are now 65,000,000 registered users in total. Respectively, there are currently 49 million Xbox Live users and 110 million PlayStation Network users.

This new data is a great milestone to go along with the fact that Valve is now in it’s 10th year. This very special anniversary is the reason that Valve saw fit to unveil their new operating system, Steam controller and, of course, the Steam Machines, all in the same year that Sony and Microsoft will be releasing their new consoles to the public.

If anything else, all of this data just proves to us that PC gaming is still going strong and will continue to grow for the foreseeable future.
