Google Maps Indoors Hits Australia

The best map service just got better – Google Maps now supports internal building plans to help you find your way around large, complex places. The service is currently active in Australia with shopping centers and train stations the first locations to feature indoor maps. Google is constantly expanding the number of locations available to users so expect popular locations near you to become available this year.

It’s also possible for public property owners to come forward with digital plans to help Google add new locations to their map system. Both the app and desktop version of Google Maps support indoor plans. Public buildings including museums, airports and train stations will slowly be added to Google Maps over the coming years.
