3Doodler: Hand-Held 3D Printer (and it’s Cheap)

Kickstarter’s at it again, something that’s truly awesome is being bought into this world with a little help from you and I.  The 3Doodler is a ‘pen’ that extrudes plastic the same way a 3D printer does.  This allows you to create 3-dimensional objects quickly and cheaply.  Imagine using a pen that isn’t bound to paper, you can create anything imaginable without restriction.

Conventional 3D printers can make objects that are more precise and can also be replicated with ease, they are however restricted by the size of their work-area.  3Doodler isn’t, you could make an entire house out of plastic if you so feel the need (and have the money).

If you already own a 3D printer (lucky you!) then this would be great for ‘hand-stitching’ together parts for larger projects.  You have until March 25th to fund the project although it has already met its target of $30,000, in fact it’s doubled it.  A single until will set you back $75 including two bags of mixed coloured plastic, a real bargain compared to a full 3D printer, they cost at least £600.  Go on.  Treat yourself… [kickstarter]
