The Ubuntu Phone is here UPDATED

Canonical have created a phone operating system.  The software was shown for the first time this evening in London at a sizeable press-conference, Canonical are taking this very seriously.

Some of the design features look really nice, the use of the dark purple and orange colour scheme is refreshing for a mobile device.  The user interface is Unity, great.  It’ll be interesting to see how that turns out.  The main selling point is that a handset running Ubuntu will interact seamlessly with the desktop version offering features that make syncing and managing content easier and faster.  There will be more details to come, the Ubuntu website is being hit pretty hard so pages are not updating.
