Finally, something launched at CES 2013 that’s actually interesting. Kingston have publicly announced a new range of super-fast USB flash drives that offer insane capacity, up to 1TB.
At the moment Kingston offer USB drives up to 256GB, soon a new 512GB version will be available for sale with a 1TB drive coming in the first quarter of this year. The speed of these devices is impressive, they offer 240MB/s read and 160MB/s write, this is nearing SSD speeds. There’s no word on pricing yet but expect it to be very high. I’m not sure whether I would want to carry 1TB of data on my keyring, that’s a lot of information to lose. [techgage]
