Realistic Fluid Simulation

Simulating fluids on a computer is nothing new but thanks to the amazing power of the modern home PC, many 3D lovers are now generating their own beautiful scenes, just for fun.  The following video was created by one guy on one computer, it’s pretty damn good…



It only took 220 hours to render, not bad.  The below video is another example of the magic of fluid dynamics, each water droplet was rendered individually giving a great sense of movement.



Only a few years ago, this type of rendering took weeks to run and had to be carried out on huge clusters costing millions of pounds.  Now you can do it on your home computer.  Awesome.
