Candle-Powered Electric Candle

This is one of the most stupid inventions that I’ve seen this year.  In fact it’s one of the worst inventions that I have ever seen.  The Candle-Powered Electric Candle does exactly what it says on the tin…  A conventional candle powers an electric one.  How stupid.

The design is as simple as it looks.  The real candle heats up the smaller heat-sink, creating a temperature difference to the other heat-sink.  This causes the electric fan to rotate as the heat moves up between the two surfaces.  The electric candle is then powered by the generated current.  The principles at work here are quite interesting, but the implementation just seems like a waste to me.
