Assassin’s Creed 3 PC Port: Broken Promises

I am one of the people who went to the trouble of skipping the PS3 and 360 versions of the latest Assassin’s Creed instalment and instead went for the option of pre-ordering the PC edition of the game.  Was it worth the wait? No.

Ubisoft promised PC gamers that they would get a decent port that we could be “proud” of.  You would expect this to be true, considering we have had to wait an extra month for the pc version to be released.  So, it must be a good port. Right?

Wrong. It’s horrible. Well, maybe “horrible” is being too harsh.  Actually, no it isn’t, it’s a terrible port.  People with very decent pc set-ups have been complaining since the release on Friday, and I am one of them.  My system consists of an AMD Phenom II X4 955, and an AMD 7950 (Sapphire edition), and for me the game is nearly un-playable in places.  This is especially true when roaming the streets of Boston and New York where I, and many other gamers are getting frame rates as low as 22fps.

I’m disappointed but I haven’t yet lost hope, as I am waiting for Ubisoft to provide a fix to this problem.  This is seriously gonna leave a mark on their reputation unless they fix it soon. Personally, I’m sick of receiving bad ports like this.
